Job Title: Packaging Category Buyer - Manager

Position Overview

The Packaging Category Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of all packaging materials (primary, secondary, and tertiary) required for the business. This role ensures cost-effective, sustainable, and innovative packaging solutions while maintaining supplier quality, compliance, and reliability. The role collaborates closely with supply chain, production, R&D;, and marketing teams to support business needs and deliver value.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies for packaging

materials
- Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and value engineering.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, sustainability, and compliance.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favorable

agreements.
- Benchmark costs and ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key packaging suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, service, innovation).
- Drive supplier development and risk management initiatives.
- Partner with R& D, Marketing,



and Operations to support current product development (NPD) and packaging innovation projects.
- Coordinate with logistics and planning for timely availability of

materials.
- Ensure compliance with packaging regulations, food safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Track, analyze, and report savings, supplier performance, and category

KPIs.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or

functionality. Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in related field.

48 years of procurement experience, with at least 23 years in packaging procurement/category management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Good knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with sustainability trends in packaging.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
