Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned SAP Basis & IT Infrastructure Support Manager to lead our enterprise technology platform. This is a full-time, hybrid leadership role for a Senior Manager with 8–10 years of experience, reporting to the Head of IT Business Solution and leading a team of 2–4 — with on-site presence preferred for critical operations. The role bridges deep SAP BASIS expertise with hands-on IT infrastructure management — covering network security, Azure Cloud, Azure Entra ID (Active Directory), and enterprise firewall/networking operations.

You will own the stability, security, and performance of our SAP landscape (S/4HANA on premises, Solution Manager) while overseeing the underlying IT infrastructure that supports it.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, hands-on manager who can define technical strategy, mentor diverse teams, drive automation, and ensure 99.9%+ system availability across both SAP and infrastructure domains.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Platform Administration & Strategy

- Own the long-term SAP technical roadmap covering S/4HANA and Solution Manager, aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee all BASIS administration: system installations, upgrades, patches, integrations, refreshes, transport management, and client administration.
- Drive HANA performance tuning, continuous monitoring, health checks, and alerting to maintain system reliability (>99.9% uptime SLA).
- Manage SAP user accounts, roles, authorization profiles, and Segregation of Duties (SoD) frameworks.
- Lead SAP security audits, vulnerability management, and compliance with GRC.
- Govern the L1/L2/L3 support model, ensuring timely incident resolution, RCA, and preventive problem management.

SAP Functional Collaboration (MM / SD / PP)

- Act as the technical bridge between BASIS infrastructure and SAP functional teams supporting Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), and Production Planning (PP).




- Understand core business processes — P2P (Procure-to-Pay), O2C (Order-to-Cash), and production workflows — to align infrastructure sizing and performance accordingly.
- Support functional teams during go-lives, system refreshes, regression testing, and production cut-overs.
- Review and govern transport requests, configuration changes, and cross-module dependencies.

IT Infrastructure, Networking & Security

- Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization (Hyper-V), and data center operations supporting SAP and non-SAP workloads.
- Manage and configure enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Sophos, or equivalent) — rule base management, NAT policies, VPN tunnels, and security zones.
- Design and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure including VLAN segmentation, BGP/OSPF routing, SD-WAN, and QoS policies.
- Implement and enforce Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles for secure remote access to SAP and enterprise systems.
- Monitor network performance and bandwidth utilization, and respond to infrastructure incidents within defined SLAs.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and enterprise IT security policies.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

- Own the SAP and IT compliance framework — GRC, audit readiness, and access review procedures.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Internal Audit teams to facilitate compliance reporting and maintain control evidence.
- Define technical frameworks supporting master data governance, data quality, and standardization across the SAP landscape.

Leadership, Vendor & Partner Management

- Lead and mentor a hybrid team of SAP BASIS and IT Infrastructure engineers, defining explicit roles, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Manage external SAP AMS vendors, cloud managed service providers, and network/security implementation partners.
- Define and enforce SLAs, track vendor performance rigorously, drive cost optimization, and serve as the escalation point for critical incidents.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

- Identify and drive high-impact automation initiatives: workflow automation, scripted patching, infrastructure-as-code, and SAP process optimization.
- Reduce manual interventions through adoption of modern scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and infrastructure automation platforms.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation: system architecture diagrams, SOPs, network topology, runbooks,



and integration flow documentation.

What We’re Looking For Qualifications & Experience

- 8–10 years of progressive IT experience, with a minimum of 7 years in SAP BASIS administration.
- At least 3–4 years in a managerial/leadership role overseeing both SAP and IT infrastructure teams.
- Proven track record managing complex, high-availability SAP landscapes in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, including network, security, cloud, and server administration.

SAP Technical Skills

- Deep expertise in SAP BASIS administration across S/4HANA and SAP Solution Manager.
- Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database management, performance tuning, backups, and lifecycle operations.
- Functional awareness of SAP MM (Procure-to-Pay), SD (Order-to-Cash), and PP (Production Planning) modules.
- Experience with SAP transport management (TMS), client administration, and system refreshes.
- Proficiency in SAP security: role design, authorization concepts, and GRC.

Cloud & Integration Skills

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure: compute, networking, storage, Azure Monitor, and Security Center.
- Proficiency in Azure Entra ID (Azure AD): SSO/SAML, MFA, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and enterprise app registrations.
- Working knowledge of SAP BTP and SAP CPI (Integration Suite) for enterprise integration scenarios.
- Understanding of hybrid connectivity: ExpressRoute, Azure VPN Gateway, and SAP Cloud Connector.

Infrastructure, Networking & Security Skills

- Strong expertise in enterprise firewall management — Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA (policy management, VPN, IPS/IDS).
- Proficiency in networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP/OSPF routing, SD-WAN, load balancers, and DNS/DHCP.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, SIEM platforms, vulnerability management, and patch management processes.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) for incident, change, and problem management.
