Atomionics is working on quantum sensors based on atom-interferometry where atoms are cooled down to almost absolute zero using lasers. At such cold temperatures, the wave nature of atoms becomes prominent, which allows us to precisely measure the forces acting on them. This opens up a wide range of applications, including paving a path in the energy transition to zero-carbon and transforming resource exploration and geophysical surveying.

Headquartered in Singapore, Atomionics is now expanding its footprint to India, with our India operations anchored in the Amaravati Quantum Valley. As part of our India team, you will work closely with our Singapore headquarters, collaborating across borders while building deep tech capabilities locally, with our India team playing a critical role in field deployment of our Quantum Gravimeters.

We are looking for a Research Scientist/Physicist who:

- Wants to be involved in research while gracefully maneuvering through the technical constraints of field deployment
- Is excited by the prospect of working within an interdisciplinary team comprised of electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, and software engineers

Responsibilities





- Conduct field trials of atom-interferometry based Quantum Gravimeters, supporting in office setup and troubleshooting
- Design and development of atom interferometry based sensors
- Work in collaboration with electronics engineers and mechanical engineers to develop and refine the system
- Research on the improvement and miniaturization of atom interferometry based sensors
- Write patents

About you

- MSc or PhD in Physics, with research experience in cold atom physics
- Proficient in experimental work
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Willing to travel and support field deployment activities, including work in on-site or remote conditions

Even better if you have

- Prior experience in atom interferometry
- Built atom interferometry based gravimeter, accelerometer, or gyroscope
- Built near-IR lasers, laser locking system, and RF electronics
- Experience in theoretical simulation of atomic systems
- Developed control systems using FPGA
