Submit Proposals To Mary Wenstrom, Executive Director — [email protected] To Whom It May Concern Exploration High School is seeking proposals from qualified transportation providers for student transportation services for the 2026–2027 school year, with the potential for renewal based on performance and need.

School Overview

Exploration High School is a public charter school located at 2620 Russell Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411.

Our mission is to serve as a public school for public good, offering hands-on,



community-driven learning experiences for students in grades 9–12. We currently serve approximately 150 students.

Scope of Services Requested

We are requesting transportation service proposals for the following needs:

- Daily Student Transportation
- Morning and afternoon routes to/from school
- Approximately 2–4 routes depending on final enrollment and student locations
- Must include safe and timely pickup/drop-off at designated stops
- Must create separate Special Education Transportation proposal in addition to general education

- Field Trips & Experiential Learning
- Occasional trips during the school day, evenings, and some weekends
- Transportation across the Twin Cities metro area for up to 130 students per trip

- Estimated 2–4 trips per month
- Limited transportation from after-school events (clubs, tutoring, sports)

Requirements

- Fully licensed and insured to operate in the state of Minnesota
- Drivers must be trained, certified, and pass background checks
- Provider must adhere to all applicable safety and reporting standards




- Vehicle options must accommodate students with disabilities when necessary
- Strong communication protocols for delays, emergencies, and family contact

Proposal Should Include
- Company profile and experience with school transportation
- Description of fleet and vehicle maintenance practices
- Pricing structure (daily rates, hourly field trip rates, mileage, etc.)
- Sample contract or service agreement
- References from other school clients (preferably charter or alternative schools)
- Insurance documentation and proof of compliance with state regulations
