Job Summary

We are seeking an innovative and meticulous RD Executive / Officer - Probiotics to lead product development, strain isolation, formulation stability, and process optimization for probiotic-based products. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in microbiology, fermentation technology, and probiotic strain viability to drive new product development (NPD) from bench scale to commercial production.

Responsibilities

- Product Formulation Strain Development: Design, formulate, and optimize probiotic strains and synbiotic blends (powders, capsules, sachets, liquid suspensions, or functional foods/beverages).
- Product Formulation Strain Development: Conduct strain compatibility, matrix interaction, and excipient feasibility studies to ensure maximum CFU (Colony Forming Unit) viability throughout product shelf life.
- Product Formulation Strain Development: Evaluate and select microencapsulation, spray-drying, or freeze-drying techniques to improve strain stability against stomach acid and heat.
- Bench-Scale Experimentation Process Optimization: Execute bench-scale fermentation, culture media optimization, and downstream processing (centrifugation, filtration, lyophilization).
- Bench-Scale Experimentation Process Optimization: Conduct real-time and accelerated stability studies under varied temperature and humidity conditions according to ICH/FSSAI guidelines.




- Bench-Scale Experimentation Process Optimization: Troubleshoot formulation challenges such as moisture sensitivity, viability drops, and organoleptic properties.
- Analytical Microbiological Testing: Perform routine analytical assays including CFU counting, purity testing, strain identification, contamination profiling, and moisture analysis (Karl Fischer / Loss on Drying).
- Analytical Microbiological Testing: Maintain strict adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and document all experimental setups, observation logs, and laboratory notebooks accurately.
- Scale-Up Regulatory Compliance: Support technology transfer (TT) from RD laboratory scale to pilot plant and commercial manufacturing facilities.
- Scale-Up Regulatory Compliance: Prepare comprehensive technical dossiers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch manufacturing records (BMRs), and specification sheets for recent formulations.
- Scale-Up Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations comply with FSSAI, AYUSH, or relevant regulatory bodies for probiotics and dietary supplements.
