Role Description The R&D; Director – Formulation is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role oversees formulation research and development activities, including designing, planning, and executing formulation projects for new and existing pharmaceutical products. The director leads cross-functional R&D; teams, allocates resources, and ensures projects meet scientific, quality, regulatory, and timeline requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing and approving experimental designs, data, and technical documentation,



coordinating with manufacturing and quality units for technology transfer, and supporting regulatory submissions. The role also involves establishing best practices, mentoring team members, driving innovation in formulation technologies, and contributing to strategic portfolio and pipeline decisions.

Qualifications

- Strong Research and Development (R&D;) and Research skills focused on pharmaceutical formulation and product development.
- Proven Team Management and Team Leadership capabilities to guide and develop multidisciplinary scientific teams.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex R&D; programs.
- Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Extensive experience in formulation development within a pharmaceutical or CRO/CDMO environment, including lab-to-plant scale-up.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, WHO, FDA/EMA expectations) and quality systems relevant to formulation R&D.;
- Ability to interpret data, prepare technical reports, and collaborate effectively with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on patient safety and innovation.
