Role & responsibilities
- Field Complaint Management: Receive, log and triage customer/dealer complaints on Rig Machines through the Field Quality Escalation workflow; ensure timely acknowledgement and closure per defined TAT.
- Site Visits &
- Investigation: Travel to customer/rig sites to physically investigate reported failures (hydraulic seals, wire-line motors, gear box, mud pump bearing housing, drill head assembly, etc.), collect failed parts/evidence and document findings.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead RCA using 5-Why, Fishbone and other structured techniques for field failures; prepare formal RCA reports for critical or repeat non-conformances and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Corrective &
- Preventive Action: Issue and track Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) arising from field issues; verify implementation both at the plant (design/process changes) and in the field (retrofit/rework on existing fleet); confirm effectiveness through follow-up audits.
- Warranty &
- Complaint Data Analysis: Maintain and analyze the service/field complaint database (by model, sub-assembly, supplier, customer) to identify top failure modes, repeat offenders and high-risk customer accounts; publish periodic Improvement Action Plans.
- Customer &
- Site Coordination: Act as the quality point of contact for key customers on field issues; manage communication on root cause, corrective action and resolution timelines; support customer audits and quality reviews.
- Supplier Feedback Loop:
Coordinate with Supplier Quality to convert field-identified part failures into supplier NCRs/CAPAs; track supplier corrective actions through to fleet-wide verification.
- Fleet-Wide Verification: Plan and execute fleet-wide inspection/verification campaigns for known issues (e.g. incorrect fitment, recurring component faults) across the installed base of Kores machines.
- Design &
- Process Feedback: Feed field failure trends back to Design and Manufacturing QC to influence design changes, process improvements and updated inspection standards, closing the loop between field and plant quality.
- Documentation: Maintain One Point Lessons (OPLs), Field Quality Escalation records, RCA reports and CAP trackers; contribute to training material for service engineers on quality-related field procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic (weekly/monthly) field quality dashboards and presentations for leadership review, highlighting open issues, closure status and emerging risk areas.
Preferred candidate profile
- Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings, hydraulic circuits and rig assembly schematics
- Working knowledge of RCA methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, Ishikawa) and structured problem solving
- Understanding of drilling rig sub-systems hydraulics, wire-line motor, gearbox, mud pump, drill head assembly
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Word for complaint tracking, RCA reports and dashboards; comfortable analyzing field data trends
- Hands-on knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC /MSA methodologies.
