Role Summary:
We are looking for a Qualitative Research Analyst to join our Index and Policy team within the Analytics Division. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in qualitative and policy/market research, with a strong foundation in designing and conducting primary qualitative research and translating findings into clear, actionable narratives. The role also requires the ability to work alongside quantitative analysts to integrate qualitative insights into broader research frameworks, and to prepare high-quality reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct primary and secondary research , including literature reviews, policy reviews, market assessments, competitor analysis, and data synthesis.
- Design and execute market research studies , including survey-based research, consumer perception studies, segmentation analysis, brand tracking, and behavioural research.
- Integrate quantitative and qualitative insights to build clear narratives, policy recommendations, and business or strategic implications.
- Contribute to policy evaluations, impact assessments, needs assessments, and programme evaluation studies, bringing a qualitative research lens to the broader analytical framework.
- Prepare structured analytical reports, policy briefs, proposals, and presentation decks for clients and senior leadership.
- Support survey-based and mixed-methods research, including consumer perception studies, segmentation analysis, and behavioural research, in collaboration with quantitative team members
- Create visual summaries, dashboards, and charts that communicate research findings effectively.
- Stay informed on emerging policy debates, market trends, consumer research methodologies, and new data sources relevant to ongoing and future projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies, Marketing or related fields
- At least 3 years of professional experience in qualitative research, policy analysis, market research, or consulting.
- Robust understanding of qualitative research design, thematic/content analysis, and mixed-methods approaches.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Google Workspace; familiarity with basic statistical concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce structured reports, policy notes, research summaries, and client presentations.
- Strong research writing skills, ability to understand and solve complex problems using a methodical approach
- Proven ability to understand and visualise complex datasets and variables using Power BI/Tableau and or Matplotlib
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in market research, policy research, consulting, think tanks, research institutes, development organisations, financial institutions, or government advisory projects.
- Experience with consumer insights, brand perception studies, segmentation analysis, market sizing, demand assessment, and competitive benchmarking .
- Familiarity with qualitative coding, thematic analysis, content analysis, and mixed-methods research approaches .
- Experience developing policy recommendations or strategic business recommendations based on empirical research.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple research projects, work independently, and collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
