QA Automation Engineer / SDET 3–5 Years

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer / SDET with 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, and API testing. The ideal candidate should have strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks, and a good understanding of CI/CD and Agile development practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts for web and API applications.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using Java/Python/JavaScript and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
- Create and execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Develop and execute REST API automation using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
- Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and track software defects using tools such as Jira.
- Perform root-cause analysis of automation and application failures.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure product quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.




- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, and test data.
- Contribute to improving test coverage, automation stability, execution speed, and overall QA processes.

Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation / SDET roles.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of API testing and automation, preferably REST APIs.
- Experience with TestNG/JUnit/PyTest/Jest or equivalent testing frameworks.
- Good understanding of SQL and database testing.
- Experience with Git and source-control practices.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code.

Good to Have
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Experience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Mobile automation experience using Appium.
- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Experience with test reporting and observability tools.
- Familiarity with security testing concepts.
