A Purchase Officer in the cable and wire manufacturing industry buys essential raw materials, machine parts, and services while keeping costs low and quality high.

Key Responsibilities :

- Sourcing Raw Materials: Buy core materials like copper rods, aluminum wires, PVC compounds, XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), and steel armor tapes.
- Vendor Management: Find new suppliers, negotiate prices, and build good relationships to get the best deals and payment terms.
- Procurement Operations: Create Purchase Orders (POs), track shipments, and make sure materials arrive at the factory on time.
- Cost Control: Monitor market prices for metals (like copper and aluminum on the London Metal Exchange) to buy at the best time and reduce production costs.
- Quality & Inventory Check: Work with the quality control team to inspect delivered goods and maintain proper stock levels to avoid factory delays.
- Documentation:



Keep records of all purchases, invoices, and supplier performance reports.

Job Requirements :

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing, heavy engineering, or the electrical/cable sector.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of ERP software (like SAP or Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of raw material specifications, wire-drawing inputs, and insulation grades.
- Soft Skills: Solid negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
