Position Summary
Ferrum Tubes is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planning and Control (PPC) Engineer to manage production planning, scheduling, capacity utilization, and workflow coordination across manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure timely production while optimizing resources, minimizing inventory, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate should possess strong manufacturing planning skills, experience in stainless steel tube manufacturing or metal processing industries, and the ability to coordinate effectively across Production, Quality, Procurement, Sales, and Dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and available capacity.
- Develop optimized production schedules for tube manufacturing, heat treatment, pickling, straightening, finishing, inspection, and dispatch.
- Balance production load across machines and departments to maximize utilization.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules while meeting customer delivery commitments.
Production Control
- Monitor production progress against planned schedules.
- Identify bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions.
- Track Work-in-Progress (WIP) at every manufacturing stage.
- Ensure smooth material flow throughout the manufacturing process.
- Coordinate with production supervisors for schedule compliance.
Material Planning
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and tooling.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid production disruptions.
- Reduce excess inventory while maintaining required safety stock.
Capacity Planning
- Analyze machine capacities, manpower availability, and production constraints.
- Recommend production sequence improvements.
- Support production balancing across shifts.
- Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Coordination
Work closely with
- Sales & Marketing regarding customer priorities
- Procurement for material availability
- Quality Assurance for inspection schedules
- Maintenance for machine downtime planning
- Dispatch for shipment planning
Production Data & Reporting
Prepare and maintain
- Daily Production Reports
- Production vs Plan Reports
- Capacity Utilization Reports
- WIP Reports
- Delivery Performance Reports
- Production Efficiency Reports
- Inventory Reports
Analyze production data and recommend continuous improvement opportunities. ERP & Documentation
- Maintain production planning data in ERP/MRP systems.
- Generate production work orders.
- Update BOMs and routing information.
- Maintain planning documentation and production records.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency.
- Reduce lead time.
- Minimize production losses and waiting time.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in Production Planning & Control.
- Experience in stainless steel tube manufacturing, pipe manufacturing, steel processing, or heavy engineering is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics,
or equivalent manufacturing ERP is desirable.

Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant environment.
- Regular interaction with production, maintenance, quality, stores, and dispatch teams.
- May require extended hours to meet production schedules and customer commitments.

This is designed specifically for a seamless stainless steel tube manufacturing operation and aligns with industry best practices for production planning, inventory control, and operational excellence. Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
