About the Role:
Product Owner (PO) — Salesforce Domain is a member of the extended Technical Product Management team and a crucial member of the Agile Team. PO owns the Team/Sprint backlog and is the single point of contact for the Dev team and business stakeholders for user story details within the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and/or platform customizations).
PO is responsible for defining and refining user stories for Salesforce configurations, automations, and integrations while prioritizing the Agile Team backlog to streamline execution of product priorities. PO drives story refinement ensuring the Team backlog contains 2 iterations of "ready" work. PO is also the only team member empowered to accept stories as Done.
What You Will Do:
Business and Technical Execution:
- Build and maintain Agile team backlog aligned to Salesforce platform roadmap and release windows
- Write and refine user stories and acceptance criteria for Salesforce configurations, automations (Flows, Apex), and integrations
- Review and prioritize team backlog for iteration planning; maintain 2 sprints of ready work
- Coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners, Salesforce Architects, Admins, and UI/UX teams
- Accept completed user stories ensuring Definition of Done including Salesforce quality standards (code coverage, governor limits, data compliance)
- Serve as single point of contact for Dev and business teams during sprints
- Create and review L3 diagrams, Swagger/OpenAPI specs for Salesforce REST integrations
- Drive Low-Level/Domain-Level Design for Salesforce platform features with Architects
- Review test cases and support QA during system, UAT, and night-of-release activities
- Participate in demos, retrospectives, PI planning, and Inspect & Adapt workshops
- Conduct Platform-Level Demos with stakeholders showcasing Salesforce features, reports, and dashboards
- Participate in and drive Salesforce release activities including deployment validation and smoke testing
- Run PO sync meetings in larger scaled ARTs and support Technical Product Manager with product vision and roadmap
Relationship & People, Professional Development:
- Build strong working relationships with Salesforce Admins, Architects,
Developers, and business stakeholders
- Develop Salesforce platform training materials, release notes, and user manuals for stakeholders
- Contribute to Product Owner Community of Practice (COP) and Scrum Master Community of Practice
- Stay current with Salesforce product releases and incorporate relevant enhancements into the roadmap
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or System Analyst roles in Agile software development
- 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience (Admin, configuration, or development context)
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud functional processes
- Experience writing user stories for Salesforce features: configurations, Flows, automation, and API integrations
- Strong technical writing, requirements elicitation, and communication skills
- Experience with Agile tools: Jira, Confluence, LucidChart, PlantUML, or VisioFamiliarity with Salesforce data model, object relationships, and SOQL conceptsStrong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making
- Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO) – preferred
- Salesforce Certified Administrator or Platform App Builder – preferred
Must Have Skills:
- Relevant Product Management, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or System Analyst experience in an Agile Salesforce product development setting. (Admin experience in salesforce domain)
Nice To Have:
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ tool, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Einstein Analytics. Familiarity with iPaaS integrations, JSON, API Swaggers, and L1/L2/L3 diagrams in a Salesforce context.
