Job DescriptionPosition Summary
NThe Plant Head will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational
Nperformance of the manufacturing facilities of Vidya Wires Limited and ALCU Industries
NLimited. The role encompasses end-to-end responsibility for production, quality,
Nmaintenance, supply chaincoordination, cost optimization, safety, compliance, people
Nmanagement, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure achievement of business
Nobjectives.
nThe incumbent shall drive operational excellence by maximizing productivity, ensuring
Ncustomer satisfaction, maintaining statutory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety,
Nquality, accountability, and innovation.
NKey Responsibilities
n1. Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
NDevelop and implement plant strategies aligned with the organization's business
Nobjectives.
nPrepare annual operating plans, budgets, capacity plans, and production forecasts.
NDrive business growth through process optimization, productivity enhancement, and
Ncost reduction initiatives.
NMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to
Nachieve operational targets.
NSupport expansion projects, new product development, and technology upgradation
Ninitiatives.
n2. Production & Operations Management
NOversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across all units.
NEnsure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
NOptimize machine utilization, manpower productivity, and resource allocation.
NMinimize downtime, rejection, rework, and process losses.
NEnsure effective implementation of production planning and control systems.
NCoordinate with the sales, procurement, stores, and logistics teams for seamless
Noperations.
n3. Quality Management
NEnsure compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and
Napplicable industry requirements.
NDrive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and customer complaints.
NMonitor process capability and implement corrective and preventive actions.
NLead internal and external quality audits.
NEnsure compliance with applicable quality management systems such as
NInternational Organization for Standardization standards and customer-specific
Nrequirements.
n4. Maintenance & Engineering
NEnsure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment
Nand utilities.
nImprove equipment reliability, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
NLead capital expenditureprojects, plant modifications, and equipment installations.
NEnsure uninterrupted availability of utilities including power, compressed air, water,
Nand other critical services.
NDrive energy conservation and asset lifecycle management initiatives.
N5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management
NCoordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely availability of raw
Nmaterials and consumables.
NOptimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
NMonitor material consumption, yield, and wastage.
NEnsure effective warehouse management and dispatch planning.
N6. Cost Management & Profitability
NPrepare and manage plantoperating budgets.
NMonitor manufacturing costs and implement cost-control measures.
NIdentify opportunities for waste elimination and process improvement.
NImprove overall plant profitability through operational efficiencies.
NDrive value engineering and lean manufacturing initiatives.
N7. Health, Safety & Workplace (HSE)
NEnsure strict compliancewith all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
NPromote a zero-accident culture across all manufacturing facilities.
NConduct regular safety audits, risk assessments,
and emergency preparedness drills.
NEnsure compliance with applicable environmental norms and pollution control
Nrequirements.
nInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
N8. Statutory & RegulatoryCompliance
NEnsure compliance with all applicable labour laws, factory regulations, and statutory
Nrequirements.
nLiaise with government authorities, auditors, customers, and certification agencies.
NEnsure compliance under the provisions of the applicable laws including:
No Factories Act and applicable state factory rules
No Environment, Health andSafety regulations
No Industrial relations and labour laws
No Fire and electrical safety requirements
No Legal metrology and other industry-specific regulations
N9. People Management & Industrial Relations
NLead, mentor, and develop departmental heads and plant employees.
NFoster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
NDrive employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning
Ninitiatives.
nMaintain healthy industrial relations and proactively address employee grievances.
NCoordinate with the HR department for manpower planning, training, and workforce
Ndevelopment.
n10. Continuous Improvement
NDrive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S
Ninitiatives.
nLead digital transformation and automation projects.
NBenchmark plant performance against industry standards.
NEncourage innovation andcontinuous improvement across functions.
