About the Role:
Illinois Tech is seeking an Assistant Manager – Placement Operations to support the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of all placement and internship activities for the Mumbai campus.
The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment operations, maintaining employer and student databases, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring a seamless placement experience.
The incumbent will work closely with the Head – Industry Relations & Corporate Engagement and the Industry Relations team to deliver exceptional employer and student experiences while ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end campus recruitment and internship processes, including employer scheduling, student registrations, interview logistics, assessments, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
- Act as the central point of coordination between recruiters, students, faculty, and internal teams during placement and internship cycles.
- Maintain accurate placement records, employer databases, recruitment trackers, and placement dashboards
- Prepare placement reports, analytics, recruitment statistics, and management presentations
- Coordinate student communications related to internships, placements, recruitment schedules, eligibility criteria, and employer interactions
- Manage placement calendars, interview schedules, venue bookings, and virtual recruitment sessions
- Support the organization of career fairs, employer networking events, industry talks, guest lectures, and recruitment drives
- Ensure timely collection and maintenance of student resumes, placement eligibility data, employment documentation, and offer records
- Collaborate with Academic Services, Student Affairs, Admissions, IT, Marketing, and Faculty to ensure seamless execution of placement activities
- Monitor placement processes to ensure compliance with institutional policies and employer requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve placement operations through process optimization and effective use of technology
- Maintain high standards of employer and student service throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Support the Head and Industry Relations team during employer meetings, corporate engagement initiatives, networking events, and strategic projects as required
- Travel within and outside the city, when required, to support corporate meetings, recruitment events, employer visits, and institutional outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, Commerce, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in placement operations, recruitment coordination, campus hiring, career services, HR operations, or a similar role.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office applications

- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to students and employers.
- Willingness to travel and support employer engagement activities whenever required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in career services, campus placements, higher education, recruitment consulting, executive search, or talent acquisition.
- Exposure to coordinating recruitment events, campus hiring programs, or internship initiatives
- Familiarity with placement reporting, recruitment analytics, and employer relationship management tools.
