About the Role

Bariflo Cybernetics is looking for a Physics Research Associate to join our R&D; team working on next-generation nano-sensors, optical sensing systems, spectroscopy, and intelligent water-quality monitoring technologies.

The candidate will work at the intersection of Physics, Nanotechnology, Optics, Sensors, Electronics, and AI-enabled sensing systems, contributing to the development and validation of novel sensing technologies for industrial water and environmental applications.

Key Research Areas

- Nano-sensors and nanomaterials
- Optical sensors and optical instrumentation
- UV/Visible spectroscopy and absorbance-based sensing
- Fluorescence and photonic sensing
- Optical detection of water-quality parameters
- Sensor development, characterization and calibration
- Thin films, functional materials and surface modification
- Photodiodes, LEDs, lasers and optical detectors
- Lens, illumination and optical-path design
- Signal acquisition and sensor data analysis
- Development of prototype sensing systems
- Integration of sensors with IoT and embedded platforms
- Experimental validation and field testing

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct experimental research for nano-sensor and optical sensor development.
- Design and perform experiments for detection and quantification of chemical/physical parameters.
- Develop optical measurement setups involving UV, Visible and near-infrared systems.
- Characterize nanomaterials and sensor responses using appropriate laboratory techniques.
- Perform calibration, sensitivity, selectivity, repeatability and stability studies.




- Analyse experimental data and develop mathematical/empirical models.
- Work with electronics and embedded teams for sensor integration.
- Support development of laboratory prototypes and field-deployable sensing systems.
- Prepare technical reports, experimental protocols and research documentation.
- Conduct literature and patent reviews and contribute to IP/patent development.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and AI/Software.

Required Qualification M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Phil. / Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Nanotechnology, Photonics, Optics or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Technical Skills

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be preferred:

- Optical spectroscopy
- UV-Vis spectroscopy
- Photonics and optical instrumentation
- Nanomaterials / nanotechnology
- Semiconductor physics
- Sensor fabrication and characterization
- Thin-film technology
- Fluorescence / absorbance measurement
- Optical detection systems
- Photodiode and LED-based sensing
- COMSOL / MATLAB / Python / Origin
- Optical design software such as OSLO
- Experimental instrumentation and data acquisition

Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who:

- Has strong fundamentals in Physics and Optics.
- Enjoys hands-on experimental research and prototype development.




- Can independently design and execute experiments.
- Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary R&D; environment.
- Is interested in converting fundamental research into commercial sensor technologies.
- Has a strong interest in patents, publications and technology development.

What You Will Work On The selected candidate will contribute to research projects involving: Nanomaterials → Nano-sensors → Optical Interaction → Signal Detection → Data Analysis → Sensor Calibration → AI/IoT Integration The research will focus particularly on developing compact, low-cost and intelligent sensing systems for water, environmental and industrial applications.

Compensation

₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on qualification, research experience and technical expertise.(WILL INCREASE AFTER 6 MON THS)

Candidates with exceptional research experience or relevant Ph.D./industry experience may be considered for higher compensation.
