Qualification & Experience: BMLT or DMLT with good communication skills with 2-3 years of Experience. Knowledge & Skills: Adequate knowledge and technical related skill, Positive communication skill, sample collection procedure.
Key Result Areas: Collection of Blood Samples. Responsibilities:
To identify the patient by PRN No and Patient ID card details.
Determine what blood samples to be collected and select the type of container to be used appropriate, preservative where required.
Follow the proper order of blood draw. Check the bill and clinicians request forms.
Check whether the patient is fasting where it is necessary for test
If for GTT to test glucose and inform the patient when to come back for next blood sampling.
Inform the time for patient when to come for post breakfast or post lunch sugars
Properly numbering the containers pertaining to test
Urine collection bottles to be given to patients with necessary instructions
Dispose the used syringes and needles as per guidelines
Maintain cleanliness in sampling room
Attend to BT/CT test for outpatients
Handover the samples and requisition to the night duty technician in bio chemistry / hematology.
To manage patient reactions during phlebotomy if any.
Appropriate handouts given to the patients.
Timely transfer of sample collected in collection centre to the main lab.
To maintain proper inventory required for the phlebotomy.
Will supervise: Help in smooth running of lab with special importance to Quality and Technical aspects.
