Job Summary The Head – PhD Research is responsible for leading and managing all doctoral research activities within the University. The role oversees the complete lifecycle of the PhD programme, including scholar admissions, research coordination, coursework, guide allocation, progress monitoring, thesis submission, regulatory compliance, and academic governance. The incumbent will work closely with the Vice Chancellor, Dean Academics, Research Supervisors, faculty members, and statutory committees to ensure the effective implementation of research policies and the successful completion of doctoral programmes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the University's PhD programme and research administration.

- Oversee the complete PhD admission process, including eligibility verification, registration, and scholar onboarding.

- Coordinate the allocation of research supervisors and monitor guide–scholar interactions throughout the research programme.

- Plan, organize, and monitor PhD coursework, research methodology classes, seminars, workshops, and research-related academic activities.

- Track scholars' progress through periodic reviews, progress reports, synopsis presentations, pre-submission seminars, thesis submissions, and viva-voce examinations.

- Maintain and update all PhD-related records, including scholar registrations, guide allotments, coursework records, progress reports, synopsis approvals, thesis documentation, and degree records.

- Ensure compliance with UGC regulations, university research policies, and statutory guidelines governing doctoral programmes.





- Coordinate with Research Advisory Committees (RAC), Doctoral Research Committees (DRC), Board of Studies (BoS), and other academic bodies for approvals and research governance.

- Organize guest lectures, faculty development programmes, research seminars, conferences, and workshops to strengthen the University's research ecosystem.

- Coordinate with external examiners, research guides, faculty members, and scholars for timely completion of research milestones.

- Verify research documentation and maintain complete confidentiality of all research records.

- Prepare and submit research-related reports, compliance documents, and statutory records to university management and regulatory authorities.

- Support the publication of research papers, patents, conferences, and other scholarly activities undertaken by PhD scholars and faculty members.

- Monitor student attendance during coursework and coordinate scholar visits to the university whenever required.

- Continuously improve research quality, academic standards, and the overall effectiveness of the University's doctoral programmes.

- Timely completion of PhD admissions, registrations, and scholar onboarding.

- Successful completion of coursework, research milestones, progress reviews,



synopsis approvals, thesis submissions, and viva examinations within prescribed timelines.

- 100% accuracy in maintaining PhD records, research documentation, and statutory registers.

- Zero pending compliance with UGC regulations, university policies, and regulatory requirements related to doctoral programmes.

- Effective coordination with research supervisors, faculty members, statutory committees, and external examiners.

- Timely organization of research seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and academic events.

- High levels of scholar satisfaction through effective academic and administrative support.

- Continuous enhancement of research quality, publications, innovation, and institutional research outcomes.

Qualifications

- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized University.

- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in higher education, with significant experience in PhD programme management or research administration.

- Strong knowledge of UGC PhD Regulations, research governance, academic policies, and higher education compliance.

- Expertise in research documentation, statutory compliance, and record management.

- Excellent communication, drafting, and presentation skills.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
