Job Summary The Performing Arts Teacher is responsible for developing students' creative expression, confidence, and artistic abilities through music, dance, drama, and other performing arts disciplines. The teacher designs engaging learning experiences, prepares students for performances, and contributes to the cultural life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons in performing arts aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Develop students' creativity, communication, confidence, and stage presence.
- Teach vocal music, dance, drama, movement, and other performing arts activities as assigned.
- Organize rehearsals and prepare students for assemblies, competitions, annual functions, and cultural events.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain records of student performance and participation.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and appreciation for arts and culture.
- Ensure the safe use and maintenance of costumes, props, instruments, and other resources.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate performing arts into classroom learning.
- Participate in school meetings, training programmes, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Educational qualifications as prescribed by CBSE.
- CTET qualification wherever applicable.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in a reputed school.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in music, dance, drama, or related performing arts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Creativity in lesson planning and event management.
- Classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to inspire confidence and teamwork among students.
