Company: SambalPay

Function: Business & Partnerships

Employment Type: Full time

Location: Gurugram

Reporting To: Founder Role Overview

This is a hands-on business development and partnership role.

You will be responsible for identifying suitable lending institutions, reaching the right decision-makers, presenting SambalPay's proposition and taking partnerships from the first conversation through commercial discussion, onboarding and go-live.

The ideal candidate understands how digital lending partnerships work and has experience dealing with Banks, NBFCs, HFCs, fintechs or lending platforms.

This is not a pure relationship-management role. We are looking for someone who can actively open new doors, build trust and close partnerships. Key Responsibilities

Identify and prioritise relevant Banks, NBFCs and HFCs for SambalPay.

Build a strong lender pipeline across products such as Personal Loans, Home Loans and Loan Against Property.

Identify and connect with decision-makers responsible for:

Digital lending partnerships

Fintech/LSP partnerships

Strategic alliances

Business development

Lending distribution/channel partnerships

Embedded finance or co-lending, where relevant

Conduct outbound partnership development through existing relationships, LinkedIn, email, referrals and industry networks.

Understand each lender's product appetite, target customer, geography, ticket size and sourcing requirements.

Present SambalPay's business proposition and identify mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.

Lead commercial discussions and negotiate commercials, operating models and partnership terms.

Coordinate with internal product, technology,

operations and compliance teams during partner evaluation and onboarding.

Drive partnerships from initial discussion to documentation, integration and go-live.

Maintain a structured pipeline of lenders, opportunities, next actions, blockers and expected closure timelines.

Develop strong relationships with existing lender partners and identify opportunities to increase business volumes.

Track the commercial performance of live partnerships and work internally to resolve issues affecting business growth.

What Success Looks

Like

Success in this role means:

Building a qualified pipeline of relevant lending institutions.

Opening conversations with the correct lender decision-makers.

Moving prospects from introduction to commercial and onboarding stages.

Signing and launching new lender partnerships.

Increasing the number of active credit products available through SambalPay.

Growing business with existing lending partners.

Creating a repeatable lender acquisition process that reduces dependency on founder-led outreach.

Ideal Candidate

Profile

We are looking for someone with approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably with at least 2 years directly involved in lending, fintech partnerships or alliances.

Relevant backgrounds may include

Digital Lending Partnerships

Fintech / LSP Partnerships

Lender Partnerships

Strategic Alliances

Lending Business Development

Embedded Finance Partnerships

Co-Lending Partnerships

Digital Lending Business teams

Experience working at or closely with Banks, NBFCs, HFCs, fintech lenders, loan marketplaces or LSPs will be valuable.

Your target data supports this focus: direct partnership owners are concentrated in partnerships, alliances and digital-lending roles while digital business, sales and strategy profiles are better treated as secondary influencers rather than the primary owner. Must-Have Skills

Strong business development and relationship-building capability.

Understanding of the Indian lending and fintech ecosystem.

Ability to identify and reach relevant decision-makers inside financial institutions.

Experience handling external partnerships or B2B business development.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Commercial negotiation ability.

Strong follow-up and execution discipline.

Ability to manage multiple lender discussions simultaneously.

Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with high ownership.

Ability to independently take opportunities from prospecting to closure. Preferred

Existing relationships across Banks, NBFCs or HFCs.

Prior experience with PL, HL, LAP or other retail lending products.

Experience with LSP or digital-lending partnership models.

Understanding of lender onboarding and integration processes.

Experience working directly with senior stakeholders such as Heads of Partnerships, Business Heads, AVPs, VPs and CXOs.
