An Operation Theatre (OT) Technician prepares and maintains the surgical room, manages sterile equipment, and assists doctors and nurses during operations. They handle patient transport, set up machines like anesthesia units and monitors, and keep inventory clean and safe.

Before Surgery (Pre-Operative)

- Setup room: Get the operating table, lights, suction units, and monitors ready.
- Check equipment: Test anesthesia machines, gas pipelines, and ventilators.
- Sterilize tools: Clean and arrange trays with proper surgical instruments.
- Transport patient: Help move the patient safely onto the table and position them.

During Surgery (Intra-Operative)

- Hand instruments: Pass tools quickly and safely to the surgical team.
- Monitor systems: Watch machine readings and assist the anesthetist.
- Manage supplies: Provide extra gauze, sutures,



or fluids as needed.

After Surgery (Post-Operative)

- Clean room: Disinfect surfaces and dispose of medical waste safely.
- Reprocess tools: Sterilize used equipment using autoclaves and pack them for next time.
- Transfer patient: Move the person to the recovery ward or ICU.

Skills and Qualifications

- Education: Diploma or BSc in Operation Theatre Technology.
- Core skills: Robust focus on hygiene, quick thinking, and calm behavior under stress.
- Physical ability: Ability to stand for long hours and assist in lifting patients.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
