We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Installation & Vendor Management to manage the complete installation vendor lifecycle, from identifying and onboarding suitable installation partners to ensuring timely, quality, and compliant execution of solar installations.
The person will be responsible for building and managing the installation vendor network, allocating projects, monitoring execution, resolving operational issues, and ensuring vendors meet company-defined quality, cost, and TAT standards.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Installation Vendor
Onboarding
Identify and onboard reliable installation vendors across required locations.
Evaluate vendors based on technical capability, manpower, experience, geographical coverage, pricing, and infrastructure.
Conduct vendor verification and collect all required documents.
Complete vendor registration, agreements, commercial negotiations, and onboarding formalities.
Maintain an updated database of active, inactive, and approved vendors.
Build a strong vendor network to support business growth and installation demand.
2.
Vendor
Allocation & Installation Management
Allocate installation projects to suitable vendors based on location, capacity, expertise, and availability.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure installations are completed within defined TAT.
Track project allocation, acceptance, site readiness, installation, commissioning, and closure.
Ensure sufficient vendor capacity is available to meet monthly installation requirements.
Monitor vendor productivity and utilization.
3.
Vendor Performance
Management
Establish and monitor vendor KPIs related to:
Installation TAT
Installation quality
Rework/rejection rate
Customer complaints
Completion rate
Vendor productivity
Cost adherence
Conduct regular vendor performance reviews.
Identify underperforming vendors and implement corrective actions.
Develop high-performing vendors and maintain a reliable preferred-vendor network.

Installation
Quality & Compliance
Ensure vendors follow company SOPs, technical standards, and safety guidelines.
Coordinate with technical/quality teams to resolve installation-related issues.
Monitor site quality and ensure proper installation practices.
Minimize rework, installation defects, customer complaints, and delays.
Ensure all required installation documentation and photographs are submitted correctly.

Vendor
Commercial & Payment Coordination
Negotiate installation rates and commercial terms with vendors.
Ensure agreed rates are followed and unauthorized cost escalations are avoided.
Verify vendor completion records before payment processing.
Coordinate with Finance for vendor invoice validation and payment-related issues.
Maintain proper records of vendor rates, agreements, and payment status.
6.
Issue
Resolution & Escalation Management
Act as the primary point of contact for installation vendors.
Resolve issues related to manpower, material availability, site readiness, customer coordination, and installation delays.
Escalate critical operational issues to management with appropriate solutions.
Ensure customer complaints related to installation are resolved within defined TAT.
7.
Operations
Planning & Reporting
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly installation plans based on business requirements.
Track installation pipeline and vendor capacity.
Prepare MIS reports covering vendor onboarding, allocation, installations, pending jobs, TAT, quality, and vendor performance.
Analyze operational data and identify bottlenecks and improvement areas.
Share regular performance reports with management.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
4–7 years of experience in operations/vendor management.
Experience in solar installation, EPC, renewable energy, electrical projects, or a similar field preferred.
Strong experience in vendor onboarding and vendor relationship management.
Good understanding of installation/project execution processes.
Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
Excellent coordination and problem-solving abilities.
Solid MIS, Excel, and reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple vendors and locations simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to project sites/vendor locations when required.
