Job Title: Ontologist – FIBO & BIAN

We are looking for an experienced Ontologist with expertise in Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) and Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) . The role focuses on designing enterprise knowledge models, developing OWL-based banking ontologies, enabling semantic interoperability, and supporting enterprise knowledge graph initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain FIBO-aligned enterprise ontologies and semantic models using RDF, RDFS, and OWL.
- Model BIAN service domains and create reusable ontology patterns, taxonomies, and vocabularies.
- Develop FIBO–BIAN mappings to enable semantic interoperability across banking applications.
- Define ontology governance, validation rules, and semantic best practices.




- Develop and optimize SPARQL queries for knowledge graphs and support semantic analytics.
- Provide technical guidance on semantic technologies and knowledge graph implementations.

- RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL
- Ontology design, semantic reasoning, knowledge graphs, SHACL
- FIBO, BIAN, banking domain modeling
- Graph technologies: GraphDB, Stardog, Apache Jena, RDF4J, TopBraid, Neo4j
- Python for ontology automation and data processing

Qualifications

- 8–12 years of experience
- Solid Banking & Financial Services domain expertise
- Experience in ontology governance and lifecycle management
- Hands-on FIBO and/or BIAN implementation preferred
- Location: Bangalore / Chennai
