We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NPD Engineer to join our product development team. The candidate will be responsible for developing new products, preparing engineering drawings, supporting sample development, creating BOMs, and coordinating with production to ensure smooth product development. Experience in automotive wiring harnesses and sheet metal components will be preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Design & Development

- Prepare 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar).
- Develop manufacturing drawings with all required dimensions and tolerances.
- Modify existing drawings as per customer or production requirements.

Wiring Harness Development
- Prepare wiring harness layouts and assembly drawings.
- Understand automotive wiring harness standards, connectors, terminals, sleeves, tapes, and protective components.
- Create wiring harness routing and assembly documentation.

Sheet Metal Design
- Prepare sheet metal part drawings.
- Understand bending allowances, hole tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with tool room or vendors during prototype development.

BOM & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Generate part numbers and maintain engineering records.
- Prepare engineering change documents whenever required.
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control.

Sample Development
- Assist the production team during prototype and sample manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot issues during sample development.
- Suggest design improvements for better manufacturability and cost reduction.
- Ensure samples meet customer specifications.

Vendor & Component Development
- Search and identify new components, connectors, terminals, fasteners, and raw materials for new product development.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical details and samples.
- Compare alternate components for quality, cost, and availability.

Cross-Functional Coordination




- Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Sales teams.
- Coordinate with customers regarding technical queries when required.
- Support product validation and testing activities.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Ability to create 3D models using SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Good understanding of automotive wiring harness drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing.
- BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Basic understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, bending, welding, crimping, and assembly.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read customer drawings and specifications.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and basic automotive quality documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Basic understanding of DFMEA and PFMEA.
- Understanding of engineering change management.
- Cost estimation and value engineering knowledge.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and Height Gauge.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and connectors.
- Strong internet research skills for sourcing new components.

Pay: ₹216,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
