F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Building Code & Permit Review Specialist with hands-on experience in New York State building codes and U.S. municipal permitting.
You’ll review construction plan sets returned by U.S. municipalities, interpret and resolve plan review comments, update drawings for permit resubmission, and help ensure projects meet New York State and local jurisdiction requirements.
KEY: This role requires direct experience with New York State building codes, municipal plan review comments, and U.S. permit resubmissions. If you have not personally worked on U.S. permit resubmissions, this role is not the right fit.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review construction plan sets returned by town and city authorities
- Analyze and resolve municipal plan review comments
- Interpret and apply New York State building codes and local jurisdiction requirements
- Update construction drawings and prepare complete permit resubmission packages
- Support structural drafting and construction drawing revisions
- Coordinate revisions across architectural, structural, and related disciplines
- Work with internal design teams to resolve code-related issues
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong hands-on experience with New York State Building Codes
- Experience reviewing and responding to U.S. town or city plan review comments
- Experience independently interpreting and resolving building code compliance issues
- Experience reviewing and updating complete construction plan sets
- Strong background in structural drafting and construction documentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction drawing revisions
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with permitting processes in Spring Valley, Rockland County, or similar New York jurisdictions
- Familiarity with U.S. municipal building departments and permitting workflows
- Ability to understand the intent behind municipal review comments and determine the appropriate revisions
- Experience coordinating architectural and structural revisions
- Experience with U.S. residential and commercial construction projects
