About The Role We are seeking a dedicated SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Technology Operations Center (TOC) at Mizuho Global Services in Pune. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission-critical infrastructure by providing Level 1 support for SQL Server database platforms.

As part of a state-of-the-art Global Capability Center, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving database incidents, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, 24x7 environment, contributing to the strategic expansion of Mizuho’s IT operations and supporting the bank’s global financial services.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SQL Server administration, with relevant professional certifications and hands-on experience. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively within a team.





Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering or a degree in Computer Science. Foundational SQL Server certifications such as Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL fundamentals are preferred.

Experience supporting SQL Server environments across various deployment models—on-premises, virtualized, and cloud—is essential. Candidates with prior experience in a 24x7 operational setting, especially in banking or regulated industries, will have an advantage.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the MSSQL DBA mission specialist within the Technology Operations Center, providing Level 1 support for service alerts and incidents related to SQL Server database platforms.
- Manage rotating 24x7 shifts, including early, late, and overnight shifts, ensuring continuous support and monitoring of critical systems.
- Adhere strictly to operational procedures, runbooks, and incident management protocols, maintaining professionalism and timeliness in all activities.
- Respond promptly to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and execute recovery procedures to minimize downtime and ensure database availability.
- Collaborate with US Infrastructure teams for incident review, root cause analysis, and updates to operational runbooks.
- Document incident details accurately, perform detailed shift handovers, and ensure clear communication across teams.
- Mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and participate in continuous learning initiatives to enhance team capabilities.




- Identify opportunities for operational improvements, including SLA adherence, incident reduction, and MTTR optimization.
- Perform technical tasks such as database backups, restores, performance tuning, index management, and troubleshooting replication or storage issues.
- Lead deeper analysis of recurring incidents and unresolved performance bottlenecks, providing insights and recommendations for resolution.
