Mizuho Global Services (Pune) is establishing a state-of-the-art Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune, powering the strategic expansion of Mizuho Americas Services’ IT operations. At the heart of this initiative is the creation of a next-generation Technology Operations Center (TOC), modeled on a “mission control” concept delivering real-time visibility, proactive incident management, and intelligent automation across critical infrastructure and applications. The Pune GCC will not only drive operational excellence but also act as a hub for innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement in Mizuho’s technology landscape.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) specialist to join our Technology Operations Center at Mizuho Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Level 1 support for SQL Server database platforms, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our critical database systems. You will operate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting a global financial organization with a 24/7 operational model.

Your expertise will contribute to incident management, problem resolution, and continuous service improvement, working closely with US-based infrastructure teams and global collea gues.

This position involves rotating shifts, including early mornings, late nights, and overnight shifts, to ensure continuous coverage.



You will demonstrate operational discipline, problem-solving skills, and technical proficiency in SQL Server management, troubleshooting, and incident handling.

Your role will also include mentoring junior team members, participating in process reviews, and suggesting operational improvements to enhance service delivery and reduce incident resolution times.

Qualifi cations

You must have demonstrated career experience supporting SQL Server environments within a multinational organ ization.Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server across various deployment models, including on-premises, virtualized platforms (e.g., VMware), and cloud-based solutions such as Azure SQL or SQL Server on IaaS pl atforms.Proven troubleshooting skills specific to SQL Server, with a solid understanding of core concepts, backup and restore operations, performance tuning, and database health mon itoring.For Analysts: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with SQL Server, demonstrating understanding of runbook procedures and incident man agement.For Associates: At least 4 years of experience, including installations, patching, upgrades, and incident management, with qualified certifications pr eferred.For Assistant Vice President: A minimum of 7 years of extensive support experience, including managing large-scale incidents, problem solving, and supporting high-availability configurations, with relevant professional certifi cations.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for incident reporting, shift handovers, and collaboration with globa l teams.Dependability and punctuality are essential,



with the ability to organize sleep and work schedules for shi ft work.Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures and r unbooks.Strong team collaboration skills and a respectful attitude towards colleagues of diverse back grounds.

Respons ibilities

Provide Level 1 support for SQL Server database platforms, including monitoring, incident response, and troubl eshooting.Manage and resolve database alerts, job failures, performance issues, backup and restore processes, and replicati on status.Follow established runbooks and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate incident handling and r esolution.Participate in shift rotations, including early, late, and overnight shifts, maintaining operational discipline and profes sionalism.Collaborate with US Infrastructure teams to review incidents, update runbooks, and implement imp rovements.Act as a first responder for database incidents, ensuring rapid recovery and thorough documentation of root cause analysis.Maintain detailed incident reports, perform effective shift handovers, and ensure compliance with policies and controls.Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to promote continuous learning within the team.Identify opportunities for operational improvements, including SLA adherence, incident reduction, and MTTR enh ancements.Conduct operational analysis of recurring issues, contributing to problem management and proactive ma intenance.Develop and execute SQL troubleshooting, performance tuning, and maintenance tasks, including indexing and storage m anagement.Support database upgrades, patching, and deployment activities, ensuring minimal impact on service s.
