About the Role

Lighthouse Communities Foundation is looking for a passionate and community-oriented Outreach Coordinator to join our team in Barbil.

The role involves engaging with youth from underserved communities, building strong relationships with families and community stakeholders, and driving youth enrolment, participation, and retention in Lighthouse programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Mobilize youth from slum and underserved communities and build strong, trust-based relationships with youth, families, and community members.
- Communicate program objectives, eligibility, and benefits clearly to youth and their parents/guardians.
- Drive maximum youth enrolment at the Centre in alignment with program objectives and eligibility criteria.
- Build one-on-one relationships with youth to encourage regular attendance, retention, and continued engagement with Lighthouse during and after the program.
- Conduct home visits with students and families whenever required.
- Map households and communities using GIS tools and Google Maps to support effective outreach planning.
- Coordinate with government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate Centre visits, participation, and community engagement.
- Help maintain a secure, inclusive, welcoming, and youth-friendly Centre environment.
- Support Centre activities and collaborate with other team members as required.




- Contribute positively to the culture, values, and mission of Lighthouse Communities Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree, preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in community mobilization, outreach, youth engagement, or a related role.
- Experience working with underserved, marginalized, or vulnerable communities is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping tools or Google Maps is an added advantage.
- High level of empathy and a strong commitment to youth development and community empowerment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and the local language.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with maturity, confidence, and sound judgment.
- Willingness to travel locally for field outreach and community engagement activities.
