Role & responsibilities

- Audio Transcription: Accurately transcribe dictated audio recordings from physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals into formal medical reports, clinical summaries, and administrative correspondence.

- Medical Terminology Proficiency: Demonstrate a deep, fluent understanding of complex medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic procedures to ensure absolute accuracy in documentation.

- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Integration: Efficiently input, update, and maintain transcribed documents directly into the facility's EHR systems and digital database platforms.

- Quality Assurance & Editing: Review and edit translated text for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity, ensuring the final output matches the exact intent of the dictating clinician.

- Compliance & Data Privacy: Strictly adhere to healthcare privacy laws (such as HIPAA) and institutional policies regarding patient data confidentiality and secure information handling.

- Data Consistency Checking: Identify and flag transparent inconsistencies, ambiguities,



or missing information within clinical dictations, proactively consulting with the medical staff for clarification.

- High-Speed Technical Typing: Maintain a high words-per-minute typing speed with a low error rate, utilizing specialized equipment like foot pedals, dictation software, and ergonomic text-expansion tools.

- Standardized Formatting: Format all clinical documents including discharge summaries, operative reports, history and physical (H&P;) examinations, and referral letters-according to institutional templates and medical layout guidelines.

- Turnaround Time Management: Prioritize urgent dictations (such as stat reports or critical care summaries) to meet strict departmental turnaround times and ensure continuity of patient care.

- Administrative Support: Assist with secondary administrative typing duties, archiving digital medical records, and maintaining accurate logs of transcribed files for department performance tracking.
