Job Summary The Junior Doctor will work under the supervision of senior consultants to provide comprehensive diabetes care, assist in clinical management, participate in research activities, and support patient education initiatives. The role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

The RSSDI accredited Advanced Certificate Course in Diabetology is a residential course.Duration: 2 yrs – Post MBBS & 1 year – Post MD / DNB [Gen-Medicine*] (* The duration of the RSSDI course is 1 year for those with MD in Internal Medicine. Candidates having MD degree in other specialities will have to do the course over 2 years)Fees: 50,000 INR

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

- Conduct patient consultations, medical history assessments, and physical examinations.
- Assist in diagnosis and management of Type 1, Type 2, gestational, and other forms of diabetes.
- Monitor glycemic control and adjust treatment plans under consultant guidance.
- Manage diabetes-related complications (neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, etc.).
- Interpret laboratory investigations and diagnostic reports.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care as assigned.

Patient Education & Counseling

- Educate patients on insulin therapy, oral medications, diet, exercise, and lifestyle modification.




- Support structured diabetes education programs.
- Promote preventive care and early complication screening.

Research & Academic Support

- Assist in clinical research projects and data collection.
- Contribute to audits, case presentations, and academic discussions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and electronic medical records.

Administrative & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice.
- Participate in hospital meetings, CME programs, and training sessions.

Qualifications

- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid medical registration .
- Preferably 0–2 years of clinical experience (experience in diabetology or internal medicine is an advantage).

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Basic understanding of diabetes technologies (CGM, insulin pumps) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn.
- Robust documentation and record-keeping skills.

Working Conditions

- Rotational duties including OPD/IPD responsibilities.
