Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Coding Fresher role based in Hyderabad.

The Medical Coding

Fresher will review patient records and clinical documentation to assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services according to established coding standards and payer guidelines. The role includes verifying completeness and clarity of documentation, flagging discrepancies, and collaborating with senior coders or supervisors to resolve coding issues. The individual will maintain productivity and quality targets, follow compliance and privacy regulations, and update coding practices based on internal training and guidelines.



Daily responsibilities also involve using hospital information systems and coding software, participating in team meetings, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of basic medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Familiarity with coding frameworks such as ICD, CPT, and HCPCS, and willingness to learn organization-specific coding standards.
- Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding guidelines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfort using computers, hospital information systems, and coding software; basic proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills to meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Clear and qualified verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and supervisors.
- Commitment to patient data confidentiality and adherence to compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, or related field; medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) is an advantage but not mandatory for freshers.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts as needed and participate in ongoing training and skill development.
