Purpose/Objective To manage shift-wise / area-level operations of the Scrap Segregation Plant by ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-driven execution of scrap receipt, segregation, handling, processing, and dispatch activities as per defined production, SHE, quality, and cost parameters.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Area operations management: Supervise assigned area / shift operations covering scrap unloading, sorting, segregation, material handling, shredding / processing support, storage, and dispatch coordination to meet daily operational targets.

Production and process control: Monitor process parameters, manpower deployment, equipment availability, material flow, and housekeeping to ensure smooth operations, minimum downtime, and optimum productivity.

Shift team coordination: Guide operators, technicians, contract manpower, and equipment operators for safe work execution, adherence to SOPs, timely reporting, and discipline at the shopfloor level.

Quality and material accountability: Ensure proper identification, grading, segregation, stacking, tagging, and documentation of scrap categories to support downstream process quality and inventory accuracy.

Safety and compliance: Ensure strict compliance with safety, health,



and workplace requirements including PPE usage, work permits, equipment safety checks, housekeeping, incident reporting, and corrective action closure.

Coordination and reporting: Coordinate with maintenance, stores, logistics, quality, planning, and plant control teams for breakdown resolution, material movement, daily MIS, production reporting, and shift handover.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Production, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.

Experience: Over 12 years of relevant experience in plant operations, material handling, recycling, metals, process industry, or heavy manufacturing environment; experience in scrap handling / segregation will be preferred.

Skills: Strong shopfloor supervision, safety orientation, SOP compliance, manpower handling, coordination with cross-functional teams, basic production reporting, and problem-solving skills
