Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe MVS System Administrator (IBM z/OS System Programmer) to manage and maintain enterprise mainframe environments. The role involves system programming, infrastructure management, upgrades, migrations, automation, performance optimization, production support, security compliance, disaster recovery, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage z/OS system programming initiatives.
- Design resilient and scalable mainframe infrastructure.
- Perform upgrades, migrations, and SMP/E maintenance.
- Manage JES, storage, and networking components.
- Support CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ subsystems.
- Drive automation, performance tuning, and capacity optimization.
- Resolve critical incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure security, compliance, and SLA adherence.
- Support disaster recovery and monitoring integration.
- Collaborate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Mentor team members and support modernization initiatives.

Required Skills
- Expertise in IBM z/OS system programming and architecture.
- Proficiency in SMP/E installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Experience with JES2/JES3 administration.
- Knowledge of DASD, DFSMS, HSM,



TCP/IP, and VTAM.
- Experience supporting CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
- Performance tuning, capacity planning, dump analysis, and problem determination.
- Automation and scheduling experience on z/OS.
- Knowledge of security administration and compliance.
- Disaster recovery and high availability concepts.
- Production support in SLA-driven environments.
- Incident, problem, and change management.
- Scripting using Shell, REXX, or CLIST.
- Vendor coordination and defect resolution.
- Leadership in enterprise mainframe operations.
