Role Description The Mahila carrier agent role at LIC is a full-time, in office position based in Bareilly. The agent will engage with prospective and existing customers to explain LIC’s insurance products, assess their financial protection needs, and support them in choosing suitable plans.

Daily tasks include identifying potential clients, scheduling and attending meetings, maintaining customer records, and supporting the completion of policy applications and documentation. The role involves regular follow-up with policyholders regarding premium payments, renewals, and service queries, as well as participating in local marketing and community outreach activities to expand LIC’s customer base.



The agent is expected to collaborate with branch staff and adhere to LIC’s compliance, ethics, and service standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to effectively interact with diverse clients.
- Candidates should possess basic sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to generate leads and convert prospects into policyholders.
- Candidates should possess organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills to handle multiple client accounts and documentation accurately.
- Candidates should possess basic financial literacy and the ability to understand insurance products, premiums, and benefits.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with local language(s) and culture in Bareilly to better serve the community.
- Minimum educational qualification: completion of secondary education (higher qualifications such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or a related field are an advantage).
- Ability to work on-site, be mobile within Bareilly and surrounding areas, and meet clients at their preferred locations.
- Comfort with basic computer use and digital tools for policy information, communication, and reporting.
- Prior experience in insurance, banking, or retail financial services is beneficial but not mandatory; training support may be provided.
