Black Mass Energies is a B2B company operating within the battery recycling, black mass, and critical-minerals ecosystem, focused on the sourcing, procurement, and commercial supply of battery-derived materials and secondary raw materials to industrial buyers across the battery and critical-minerals value chain.
As we grow our sourcing and supply operations, we are looking for an experienced logistics professional with strong expertise in EXIM operations, CHA coordination, customs clearance, and end-to-end shipment management to support the movement of materials between suppliers, our operations, and industrial buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including shipment planning, execution, tracking, and delivery coordination for battery-derived materials and secondary raw materials
- Coordinate closely with CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, warehouses, and internal teams for smooth clearance and dispatch of consignments
- Prepare, review, and verify shipping and customs documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, bill of entry, shipping bills, and related statutory records
- Liaise with customs departments and regulatory authorities to ensure timely clearance of import and export shipments
- Ensure compliance with applicable import-export regulations, tariff classifications, duty structures, and company policies
- Monitor duty payment, document accuracy, and shipment status to minimize delays,
demurrage, detention, and compliance risks
- Resolve shipment-related issues, including customs queries, documentation gaps, cargo holds, and clearance delays
- Maintain shipment MIS, logistics records, and periodic reports on clearance status, freight cost, pending documentation, and process improvements
- Coordinate with procurement, sourcing, and commercial teams to align import-export activities with supplier and buyer transaction timelines
- Support freight negotiations, vendor follow-up, and process optimization to improve service levels and reduce logistics costs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2β10 years of experience in import-export logistics, shipment documentation, and customs clearance operations
- Solid working knowledge of CHA coordination and customs department procedures
- Good understanding of import-export documentation, HS codes, tariff classification, duty calculation, and regulatory compliance
- Experience handling multiple shipments and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders under strict timelines
- Proficiency in ERP systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and follow-up skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Indian EXIM procedures, customs notifications, DGFT-related processes, and port clearance activities
- Experience handling industrial-scale material shipments (e.g., black mass, battery scrap, or similar bulk commodities) is a plus
- Ability to handle audits, inspections, and compliance documentation with accuracy and discipline
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced operations environment
