Role Purpose The Lift Installation Supervisor – New Projects (MMR) will supervise and coordinate new lift installation activities across assigned project sites. The role covers the complete installation cycle—from lift-site readiness and material coordination to installation, testing, commissioning and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
Lift-Site Readiness
- Inspect the lift shaft, pit, headroom, machine room or MRL provisions, access routes, storage arrangements and electrical-power availability.
- Verify site conditions against approved lift drawings and technical requirements.
- Identify and report civil, structural or electrical deviations affecting lift installation.
- Coordinate with customers and contractors for closure of site-readiness requirements.
Lift Installation Supervision
- Plan and supervise lift installation activities according to approved project schedules.
- Coordinate manpower, lift materials, tools, tackles and safety equipment.
- Ensure installation is completed according to approved lift drawings, procedures and technical specifications.
- Monitor technicians, subcontractors and other site resources.
- Review daily progress and ensure adherence to installation milestones.
- Prevent avoidable rework, material damage and installation delays.
Quality and Technical Compliance
- Conduct stage-wise inspections during lift installation.
- Check the alignment, levelling, fitting and workmanship of lift components.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s lift-quality standards and technical documentation.
- Prepare and close installation checklists, snag lists and inspection observations.
- Report technical deviations, damaged lift components or material shortages immediately.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure that all lift-installation work complies with company and site-safety requirements.
- Confirm the proper use of personal protective equipment by technicians and subcontractors.
- Conduct or participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure safe access, barricading, housekeeping and controlled storage of tools and materials.
- Stop and escalate any lift-installation activity presenting an immediate safety risk.
- Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly.
Testing, Commissioning and Lift Handover
- Coordinate pre-commissioning checks for completed lift installations.
- Support lift testing, adjustment, trial runs and commissioning.
- Coordinate inspections with internal technical teams, customers, consultants and authorised agencies.
- Ensure closure of all technical and installation observations.
- Obtain the required customer acknowledgements and lift-completion records.
- Facilitate the formal handover of commissioned lifts to the service or maintenance team.
Site Coordination
- Act as the principal site-level coordinator for assigned lift projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, lift engineers, technicians, contractors, consultants and customers.
- Attend site meetings and provide accurate lift-installation progress updates.
- Identify dependencies affecting timelines and escalate them without delay.
- Maintain professional conduct during customer and contractor interactions.
- Avoid making unauthorised technical, financial or delivery commitments.
Reporting and Documentation
- Record daily lift-installation activities, manpower deployment, progress photographs and pending issues in FieldCircle or another prescribed system.
- Maintain lift-installation checklists, inspection reports and measurement records.
- Submit accurate daily and weekly progress reports.
- Document customer instructions, variations, approvals and site constraints.
- Maintain the records required for billing, commissioning, handover and project closure.
Lift Materials, Tools and Assets
- Verify lift materials received at the site against approved lists and delivery documents.
- Ensure proper handling and safe storage of lift components, tools and equipment.
- Monitor material consumption and prevent damage, misuse, loss and wastage.
- Report shortages,
transit damage or incorrect components immediately.
- Maintain records for the issue, movement, return and reconciliation of company assets.
Operational Support
- When operationally required, assist with lift inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, breakdown resolution and preventive maintenance of assigned units.
- Coordinate with the service team for technical issues identified during or immediately after lift commissioning.
- Such support will not alter the position’s primary responsibility for new lift installation and handover.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of lift-installation and commissioning milestones.
- Quality of installation and minimisation of rework.
- Timely identification and escalation of site constraints.
- Compliance with lift-installation safety requirements.
- Accuracy and timeliness of FieldCircle reporting.
- Closure of snag items and inspection observations.
- Proper control of lift materials, tools and company assets.
- Successful commissioning and handover of assigned lifts.
- Effective coordination with customers, contractors and internal teams.
Required Competencies
- Practical knowledge of lift installation, testing and commissioning.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical lift systems.
- Ability to interpret lift drawings and technical instructions.
- Site-supervision and manpower-coordination skills.
- Ability to identify lift-installation defects and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Strong safety and quality orientation.
- Explicit reporting, documentation and escalation skills.
- Ability to use FieldCircle and other digital reporting applications.
Role Conditions
- This is a field-based lift-project position requiring regular movement across Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
- Deployment outside the MMR may be required according to project needs.
- Local conveyance and approved outstation official travel will be governed by the issued offer and company policy.
- Personal accommodation, food and living expenses in Mumbai will remain the employee’s responsibility.
- Regular working hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., subject to lift-project requirements and company policy.
- Attendance, leave, weekly-off, reporting and travel requirements will be governed by applicable company policies.
