Role Description The Legal Associate will support U.S.-based law firms with day-to-day case work, including legal research, drafting and reviewing complaints, motions, discovery requests and responses, and demand letters. The role includes preparing deposition and medical summaries, organizing case files, assisting with case management, and maintaining accurate calendars and deadlines.
The Legal
Associate will collaborate closely with supervising attorneys and paralegal teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables that meet client specifications and jurisdictional requirements. This is a full-time,
on-site role based in Punjab, India, requiring consistent office presence and coordination with colleagues and clients in different time zones.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities, including familiarity with common law concepts and U.S. legal procedures.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and documentation, such as complaints, discovery requests and responses, motions, demand letters, and summaries.
- Effective case and calendar management skills, with the ability to track deadlines, organize files, and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions from supervising attorneys and adapt to wide-ranging practice areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a closely related field; additional paralegal or legal certification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a law firm, legal outsourcing, or paralegal services environment is preferred.
- Strong ethical judgment, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive case information.
- Comfort working with legal and productivity software, including document management and collaboration tools.
- Capacity to work full-time on-site in Punjab, India, and collaborate across time zones when required.
