Position Overview
- Lead Material Handling Designer Conducts material (equipment/items) handling design, drafting and modeling under Principal/Lead Engineer or Principal Designer supervision mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities.
- The ideal candidate for the position will have a robust background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Material Handling Design, and Hands-on experience in 3D modelling tools like AVEVA / E3D/ PDMS.
- The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Material Handling Engineer to manage the project smoothly mentoring junior designers.
- Conduct Material Handling Design, Drafting and 3D Modelling
- Develop Material Handling Design Database in Engineering Management Platform.
- Listing of all items to be move from/ to the vessel for maintenance/repair.
- Block the Maintenance/ Handling space in the layout to suit the movement of handling items (including trolley etc.), handling tools with keeping margin as per industrial standard practice/ design philosophy.
- Provide the material handling aids for removal and movement of items and block the space to avoid clash with others.
- Demonstrate the handling during Material Handling workshop/ 3D modeling review.
- Participation on 30%, 60%, 90% model review and comment closure.
- Review of various packages/ equipment offers and supplier’s drawing and assess handling aspects.
- Interface with all stake holders and 3D designers to implement the handling requirements.
- Manage interface with all relevant disciplines to get necessary information for engineering or to provide data to other disciplines for their engineering.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years’ working experience with 7 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry (FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor )
- Minimum 1 FPSO / FLNG/ Offshore FEED/EPCI Project experience.
- Well Versed with 3D Model Software like AVEVA / E3D/ PDMS and AutoCAD.
- Speaking and understanding of English, with written communication skills.
