What You'll Do

- Own solutioning end-to-end: turn product intent into a clear technical direction, sequence delivery with your product owner and PMO, and de-risk the hard parts early with spikes and prototypes.
- Design and build hands-on — carry the most critical stories yourself and unblock others quick.
- Set and enforce engineering standards across the pod: design reviews, code reviews, testing discipline and our CI-enforced architecture rules

- Own quality in production for your room's surfaces — performance, reliability and observability are part of "done".
- Grow the pod: mentor engineers, level up their design thinking, and build a culture where the best idea wins. Work as one team with product, QA and the other rooms — dependencies are surfaced loudly and early.

6–9 years of backend-leaning product engineering, including 2+ years leading a team; strong Python.

Depth in domain modelling for correctness-critical systems — calculation engines, rules engines, or document/report generation where wrong answers are expensive.

Serious testing discipline: golden-file, property and regression testing for systems where correctness is the product.

Experience designing for auditability — traceability, versioning, immutable trails. Experience building configurable or templated systems that serve multiple markets from a single codebase.

Judgement for pairing deterministic engines with AI-assisted generation — and knowing which side of that line each problem belongs on.
