Role Description The Lead Auditor for AS 9100D will conduct remote audits of aerospace quality management systems, including planning, executing, and reporting audit activities for client organizations. This contract role involves reviewing documentation, interviewing process owners, evaluating compliance with AS 9100D requirements, and identifying nonconformities and opportunities for improvement.

Auditor will prepare detailed audit plans, checklists, and reports, communicate findings to client leadership, and provide objective guidance on corrective actions while maintaining impartiality.



The role also includes coordinating audit schedules, ensuring adherence to accreditation and certification body requirements, and staying current with relevant standards and regulatory updates. The position is fully remote and may require adaptable availability to accommodate client time zones.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in AS 9100D and relevant aerospace quality management standards, with the ability to interpret and apply requirements in diverse operational contexts.
- Demonstrated skills in auditing techniques, including planning, conducting, and closing audits, along with experience in internal or third-party audits.
- Ability to analyze processes and documentation, identify risks and nonconformities, and recommend practical, compliant improvements.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills for preparing audit reports, presenting findings, and engaging with client stakeholders.
- High level of professional integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail, with strong time management and remote collaboration capabilities.
- Relevant professional certification or training as an AS 9100 Lead Auditor or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Experience in aerospace or related manufacturing/engineering environments is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
