Kafka L2 Production Support Engineer

Responsible for providing L2 support for the Confluent Kafka platform in a 24x7 production setting.

Key responsibilities include monitoring Kafka clusters and associated components (Kafka Brokers, Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, ZooKeeper), incident and problem management, troubleshooting production issues, log analysis, deployment support, and performance monitoring. The role involves coordinating with application, infrastructure, network, and vendor teams to ensure platform stability and SLA compliance.

Required Skills:

- 4-8 years of experience in Production Support.
- Hands-on knowledge of Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or Kafka Control Center.
- Understanding of incident, change,



and problem management processes (ITIL).
- Experience in log analysis, performance tuning, and capacity monitoring.
- Knowledge of SQL, scripting, and deployment activities.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills: Kafka certification, Ansible/automation tools, DevOps exposure, and experience in 24x7 support operations. ",
