Junior Womenswear Designer –

Role Summary The Junior Womenswear Designer supports the design and development of commercially successful women’s apparel collections. The role involves trend research, concept development, garment design, colour and print selection, range building, and coordination with sampling and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Research seasonal fashion, colour, silhouette, fabric, print, graphic and market trends.
- Develop seasonal mood boards, concept boards, colour stories and collection themes.
- Design women’s tops, T-shirts, dresses, co-ord sets, bottoms, loungewear and fashion knitwear according to the brand direction.
- Create garment sketches, CADs, colourways and presentation boards.
- Develop prints, graphics, embroidery and placement artwork with the graphic/design team.
- Assist in preparing complete seasonal range plans and collection presentations.
- Select suitable fabrics, trims, washes, embellishments and garment details.
- Work closely with pattern masters, sampling teams and merchandisers during product development.
- Attend sample reviews and provide comments regarding fit, styling, construction, colour and design details.
- Make revisions to styles based on buyer, senior designer or management feedback.
- Maintain design files, artwork specifications, style references and seasonal development records.
- Conduct competitor and market research across both online and retail channels.




- Ensure collections are commercially relevant, cost-conscious and appropriate for the target customer.
- Support preparation of buyer presentations, line sheets and range review meetings.
- Follow development calendars and ensure design submissions are completed on schedule.

Skills Required

- Solid fashion sense and understanding of current womenswear trends.
- Good knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims and print techniques.
- Strong colour, styling and proportion sense.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of CLO 3D is an advantage.
- Ability to create clean fashion CADs and presentation boards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle multiple styles and collections simultaneously.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of target customer requirements.

Qualification & Experience

- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in womenswear design, internships included.
- Experience in knitwear, casualwear, fashion tops or co-ord collections is an advantage.
- Portfolio demonstrating womenswear design, trend research, CADs, prints and collection development.

Reporting To: Senior Designer / Design Manager / Head of Design Department: Design & Product Development

Pay: ₹18,000.00 per month
