The platform covers breaking education news, policy changes, admissions, scholarships, academic jobs, and career opportunities, along with initiatives such as EduAdvicePodcast, CampusNews, NewsAlerts, AcademicJobs, and ScholarshipAlerts. EduAdvice™ also runs NGO Udaan, focused on child education and skill development, including children’s theatre programs in partnership with the Government of India. Applicants will join a mission-driven organization that aims to make relevant education information part of learners’ daily lives.
Role Description The Journalism Intern will support EduAdvice™ in producing accurate, engaging, and timely education-focused content for digital platforms. Day-to-day tasks include researching education news, writing and editing articles, assisting with press releases, and contributing to coverage of school updates, university announcements, policy changes, scholarships, internships, and jobs.
The intern will collaborate with the editorial team to verify information, source quotes,
and develop story angles that resonate with the student and educator community.
Responsibilities may also include supporting podcasts, campus news features, and social media updates. This is a remote internship role, offering flexible collaboration with the team and exposure to a wide range of education journalism topics.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and news writing skills, with the ability to produce explicit, concise, and engaging content on education topics.
- Experience or interest in press releases and communication, including structuring announcements and conveying key messages effectively.
- Research skills to identify credible sources, verify information, and develop well-informed stories and features.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, meet deadlines, and respond constructively to editorial feedback.
- Basic understanding of digital media, online publishing, and social platforms; familiarity with education sector topics is an advantage.
- Ethical approach to journalism, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and non-biased reporting.
