Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs in Java using Spring Boot in a microservices architecture.
- Implement business logic, data models, and algorithms to support core fintech product features such as payments, wallets, and transaction flows.
- Build service-to-service communication using Spring WebClient and integrate with internal and third-party (banking/payment) APIs.
- Work with Hibernate/JPA to design and query relational data models while ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Apply Spring Security to protect APIs through authentication, authorisation, and secure token handling.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Debug and resolve issues identified during testing and from user feedback.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and QA to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and practices.

Requirements:

- 2-4 years of proven experience as a Backend Java Developer, preferably in the fintech or BFSI domain.
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem - Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
- Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Working experience with Spring WebClient (or similar reactive/HTTP clients) for inter-service and external API calls.
- Good knowledge of Hibernate/JPA, relational databases, and SQL, with a solid grasp of ORM concepts.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and common design patterns.
- Familiarity with JSON/XML data formats, web services, and API security fundamentals.
- Exposure to AWS (or another cloud platform) - e. g., EC2 S3 RDS, SQS - is a strong plus.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and Mockito.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to reliability and security.
- Positive to have: Docker, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS), and caching (Redis).
