About the Role

St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, a CBSE-affiliated senior secondary school, is looking for an experienced and responsible IT Administrator / IT Manager to take complete ownership of the school’s IT infrastructure, systems and day-to-day technology operations.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, secure and uninterrupted functioning of all IT systems and technology-enabled facilities across the school, including network infrastructure, servers, computers, smart classrooms, computer laboratories, ERP, CCTV, biometric/attendance systems, internet connectivity, software, backups and IT-related vendor coordination.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing the school's complete IT environment and providing timely technical support to Management, Administration, teachers, staff and students.

Key Responsibilities1. IT Infrastructure & Network Management

- Take overall responsibility for the school's IT infrastructure and technology operations.
- Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls and network infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable internet connectivity across academic, administrative and common areas.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and maintain network security.
- Maintain proper documentation of network architecture, IP addresses, devices and configurations.
- Plan network expansion and upgrades based on school requirements.
- Manage structured cabling and coordinate network-related installation and maintenance works.

1. Servers, Systems & Data Management

- Manage school servers, storage systems and other IT infrastructure.
- Ensure regular data backup, restoration and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor server performance, storage capacity and system availability.
- Maintain appropriate access controls and user permissions.
- Ensure critical school data is securely stored and protected.
- Maintain documentation of systems, licenses, configurations and credentials in accordance with school security policies.

1. School ERP & Digital Systems

- Administer and support the school's ERP and other digital platforms.
- Coordinate with ERP/software vendors for implementation, troubleshooting, upgrades and customization.
- Provide technical support to departments using ERP modules.
- Ensure proper user creation, access control and role management.
- Coordinate integration between ERP and other school systems where required.
- Support digital processes including admissions, fee management, attendance, report cards, examinations, TC, communication and other academic/administrative functions.

1. Smart Classrooms & Digital Learning Infrastructure

- Maintain and support interactive panels, smart classroom systems, projectors, audio-visual equipment and classroom technology.
- Ensure all smart classroom equipment is functional and available for academic use.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Assist teachers and staff with basic technical issues related to classroom technology.
- Maintain an inventory of IT and digital classroom equipment.

1. Computer Laboratories

- Manage the school's Senior and Junior Computer Laboratories.
- Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment and peripherals.




- Ensure operating systems and required software are properly installed and updated.
- Maintain antivirus/security systems and ensure systems are protected.
- Coordinate periodic preventive maintenance and hardware servicing.
- Maintain asset and equipment records.

1. CCTV, Biometric & Security Systems

- Monitor and maintain the school's CCTV surveillance system.
- Ensure cameras, recording systems, storage and monitoring equipment are operational.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and maintenance with CCTV vendors.
- Manage biometric/attendance devices and related software.
- Support integration of security and attendance systems where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate access to surveillance recordings in accordance with school policies.

1. IT Hardware & Software Management

- Maintain an updated inventory of all IT assets including computers, laptops, printers, scanners, networking equipment, smart panels and other devices.
- Manage installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Monitor software licenses, subscriptions and renewals.
- Recommend replacement or upgrade of obsolete equipment.
- Assist Management in preparing technical specifications for IT procurement.
- Evaluate quotations and provide technical recommendations when required.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of newly purchased IT equipment.

1. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

- Implement and maintain appropriate cybersecurity practices across the school.
- Protect school systems and data against malware, unauthorized access, phishing and other cyber threats.
- Ensure regular security updates, patches and antivirus protection.
- Implement appropriate password, access-control and user-management practices.
- Conduct periodic checks for security vulnerabilities.
- Educate staff on basic cybersecurity practices, phishing awareness and safe use of school IT systems.
- Support incident response and recovery in the event of a cybersecurity issue.

1. Website, Email & Online Platforms

- Coordinate technical administration of the school's website, domain, hosting and related services.
- Manage school email systems and user accounts where applicable.
- Coordinate with website developers, hosting providers and other external technology vendors.
- Ensure timely renewal of domains, hosting, SSL certificates and other IT-related subscriptions.
- Provide technical support for online meeting platforms and other institutional digital tools.

1. Technical Support

- Provide timely technical support to Management, Administration, teachers and staff.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
- Maintain an IT support/request register and ensure issues are resolved within reasonable timelines.
- Provide basic user training whenever required.
- Coordinate with external service providers for issues requiring specialized support.

1. Vendor & AMC Management

- Coordinate with IT vendors, AMC providers, internet service providers and other technology partners.
- Track AMC schedules, service calls and warranty details.




- Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out as scheduled.
- Verify service completion and report unresolved issues to Management.
- Maintain records of vendor contacts, contracts, warranties and service history.

1. IT Planning & Administration

- Prepare annual IT maintenance and upgrade plans.
- Assist Management in preparing IT budgets and procurement proposals.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
- Maintain proper IT policies, SOPs and documentation.
- Ensure business continuity for critical IT systems.
- Prepare periodic reports on IT infrastructure, incidents, maintenance and requirements.
- Support the school during examinations, admissions, events and other activities requiring technical infrastructure.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Electronics or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in networking, systems administration or cybersecurity will be an advantage.
- Strong practical knowledge of computer hardware, networking, servers, operating systems and IT infrastructure.

Required Experience Preferred: 3–7 years of relevant experience in IT administration, IT infrastructure management, school/educational institution IT operations, corporate IT or a similar environment.

Experience in managing IT operations of a school, college, educational institution or large organization will be an added advantage.

Preferred Advantage Candidates with experience in CBSE schools or educational institutions, and those who have independently managed a complete IT environment involving ERP, networking, computer labs, smart classrooms, CCTV, biometric systems and school administration systems, will be given preference.

Salary

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month, depending on qualification, experience and technical expertise.

Compensation may be revised for candidates with exceptional experience and demonstrated ability to independently manage a large institutional IT environment.
