Role Description The Hygiene Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru at The Den. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring hygiene and sanitation standards across all food and beverage outlets, kitchens, guest areas, and back-of-house operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting regular inspections, overseeing cleaning schedules, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and maintaining documentation for audits.
The Hygiene
Manager collaborates closely with culinary, housekeeping, and operations teams to train staff on hygiene protocols,
investigate non-compliance issues, and drive continuous improvement in safety and cleanliness. The role also involves coordinating with external regulatory bodies when required and supporting the hotel’s overall quality assurance and guest experience goals.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Food Safety and Food Science, with the ability to apply best practices in a hospitality environment.
- Experience in Quality Assurance and Food Manufacturing, ensuring standards are consistently met across all operational areas.
- Proven capability in Training, especially in designing and delivering hygiene and safety training programs for diverse teams.
- Knowledge of local and international hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations relevant to hotel operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or a related field; relevant certifications in food safety or HACCP are an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence behavior change.
- Prior experience in a hotel, resort, or large-scale food service operation is preferred.
