: HR Generalist

About the Role

As we grow beyond a 25-30 member team and prepare for rapid scaling, we are looking for a dynamic HR Generalist who can build the foundation of our People function. This role goes beyond traditional HR — it blends recruitment, culture-building, compliance, people operations, and strategic support for the founders.

You will help create a structured, employee-first setting while supporting the company’s next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

- Own end-to-end hiring for all functions (screening → interviews → offer rollout).
- Build hiring processes, JD templates, talent pipelines, and onboarding frameworks.
- Coordinate with founders and team leads to plan manpower for the next 6–12 months.
- Manage candidate experience and employer branding across platforms.

2. Onboarding, Induction & Culture Building

- Set up structured onboarding and employee welcome processes.
- Build and maintain a positive, value-driven culture across the team.
- Drive initiatives that strengthen belonging, collaboration, and company values.
- Plan engagement activities, appreciation programs, and internal communication.

3. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management

- Maintain attendance, leave tracking, and HR documentation.
- Manage employee records, offer letters, NDAs, contracts, and confirmations.
- Support payroll coordination and salary structure discussions.
- Develop and enforce HR policies, SOPs, and handbooks tailored to a growing startup.

4. Compliance & Statutory Management

- Ensure compliance with labour laws, PF, ESIC, Shops & Establishments Act.
- Set up and manage the POSH Committee (mandatory for 10+ employees).
- Oversee HR audits, background verification, and legal documentation.
- Build transparent and fair appraisal, performance, and bonus frameworks.

Employee Relations & Retention

- Act as the first point of contact for employee issues, grievances, and concerns.
- Conduct 1:1 check-ins, pulse surveys, and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Support career development planning and identify retention strategies.
- Mediate conflicts when needed and maintain a healthy team environment.

6. Strategic HR Support

- Provide founders with insights on hiring progress, attrition risks, and team well-being.
- Implement HRMS tools (Keka, Zoho HR, BambooHR) to streamline workflows.
- Support organizational design, role clarity, and future workforce planning.
- Assist in structuring salary bands, compensation models, and growth frameworks.

- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of HR operations, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable setting up processes from scratch — not just maintaining them.

✔ Nice-to-Have

- Experience with HRMS tools (Keka, Zoho, BambooHR).
- Understanding of labour law compliance and statutory processes.
- Prior exposure to building culture or employer branding initiatives.
- Ability to scale HR processes for growing teams (15 → 30 → 75+).
