Work mode: Work from office, 6 days a week

Reporting to: VCHRO Lead & HR Manager of UniMax

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to gain hands-on experience across the HR function while helping UniMax build and strengthen its systems, processes, and people practices.

The role offers exposure to HR operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, engagement, compliance, and HR data. It also provides the chance to create and implement HR processesexperience that can otherwise take 510 years to develop.

The role is suited to someone who takes ownership, works well with stakeholders, and is comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Candidates based in Navi Mumbai or comfortable commuting are preferred. This is an on-site role requiring work from the office six days a week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
Understand manpower requirements and partner with hiring managers to develop clear and accurate job descriptions.

Source candidates through relevant channels, screen profiles, and coordinate interviews.

Support the complete recruitment lifecycle, including offer discussions, background checks, offer rollout, and candidate engagement until joining.

Build and maintain talent pipelines aligned with current and future business requirements.

Coordinate onboarding and induction for new hires, ensuring a welcoming, organised, and consistent joining experience.

Key metrics: Hiring manager satisfaction, new-hire satisfaction, quality of hiring, and turnaround time for requisitions.

2. HR Business Partnering and Stakeholder Collaboration

Serve as the on-ground HR point of contact for employees and managers.

Implement HR processes and workflows developed with the HR leadership team.

Translate business and leadership requirements into practical HR actions and solutions.





Build trusted relationships with stakeholders through visibility, responsiveness, and sound judgement.

Support managers in addressing people-related matters consistently and constructively.

Help strengthen the connection between leadership intent, business needs, and employee experience.

Key metric: Stakeholder feedback and effective adoption of HR processes.

3. Performance, Culture, and Employee Experience

Coordinate performance management activities, including goal-setting, reviews, feedback, and documentation.

Help establish and maintain HR systems and processes as the organisation grows.

Own employee engagement activities and support initiatives that strengthen connection and belonging.

Act as a reliable first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.

Stay attuned to employee wellbeing, workload, morale, and emerging people-related risks.

Identify learning and development needs and coordinate relevant interventions.

Support recognition initiatives that make good work visible and valued.

Key metric: Timely completion and process compliance across people initiatives.

4. Employee Relations and Statutory Compliance

Handle employee relations matter with maturity, discretion, fairness, and confidentiality.

Support investigations, disciplinary processes, and documentation when required.

Explain HR policies and processes clearly to employees and managers.

Promote consistent and fair application of policies across the organisation.

Maintain appropriate records and support compliance with applicable statutory requirements.

Manage the exit process end-to-end, including resignation acceptance, exit interviews, full and final settlement coordination, and respectful offboarding.

Key metrics: Timely resolution of employee concerns, grievance closure within agreed timelines, and statutory compliance.

5. HR Operations, Payroll, and Data

Coordinate payroll inputs and personnel administration with the Finance team and relevant stakeholders.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date,



and audit-ready employee records and documentation.

Support the development and improvement of HR policies, templates, workflows, and operating processes.

Use HR data and metrics to identify trends and support informed decision-making.

Maintain employee benefits-related records and coordinate with service providers where required.

Ensure HR processes are executed accurately and consistently.

Key metrics: Payroll input accuracy, timely submissions, data accuracy, and audit readiness.

Rrequired Qualifications and Experience

25 years of experience in Recruitment, HR Generalist, HR Operations, or HR Business Partner roles.

Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, and employee engagement.

Exposure to building or implementing HR systems, policies, processes, or documentation will be an advantage.

Working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance requirements.

Proven ability to manage recruitment activities end-to-end.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and employees across levels.

Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

MBA or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources is preferred but not mandatory.

Candidates based in Navi Mumbai or those comfortable with daily commuting are preferred.

Willingness to work from the office six days a week is essential.
