About the Role
We are looking for an experienced person to independently manage end-to-end HR operations for our manufacturing unit. This is a hands-on role covering the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit along with payroll, statutory compliance, safety audits, and workforce administration for both staff and shop-floor employees. The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with plant leadership, handling blue-collar and white-collar workforce needs, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations on-site.
Key Responsibilities :
Employee Lifecycle Management :
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle: onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, and full & final exit formalities
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition trends for the unit
Payroll &
- Attendance :
- Process monthly payroll inputs accurately and on time, coordinating with the central payroll/finance team
- Manage attendance and leave management systems (biometric/HRMS), including shift schedules for plant staff
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries related to salary, leaves, and attendance
Statutory Compliance &
- Safety :
- Maintain and update all statutory compliance registers as per Factories Act, Shops &
- Establishment Act, and other applicable labor laws
- Coordinate and support internal and external safety audits in line with factory safety norms
- Ensure timely compliance with PF, ESI and other statutory requirements
HR Operations &
- Employee Relations
- Act as the single point of contact for all HR matters at the manufacturing unit
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution on the shop floor
- Support performance management processes, including appraisals and documentation
- Coordinate employee engagement activities, training programs, and welfare initiatives
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR MIS reports
- Partner with plant management on manpower planning and workforce requirements
Requirements
- Graduate
- Strong working knowledge of labor laws: Factories Act, ESI Act, PF Act, Bonus Act, etc.
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and HRMS/attendance systems
- Experience managing statutory compliance registers and coordinating audits
- Ability to independently manage HR operations for a plant/unit with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle both workmen and staff
- Proficiency in MS Excel and HR software/ERP systems
Positive to Have
- Experience handling labour
- Experience in a manufacturing/factory environment
- Exposure to ISO/safety audits (e.g., ISO 45001, OHSAS)
- Local language proficiency relevant to the plant location
