Vee Healthtek is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Medical Coders with expertise in UK Healthcare Coding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, assigning accurate clinical codes, ensuring compliance with NHS coding standards, and maintaining high productivity and quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical records and clinical documentation for coding accuracy.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10, OPCS-4, and relevant NHS clinical codes based on documentation.
- Ensure coding compliance with NHS Digital standards and national coding guidelines.
- Abstract clinical information and enter coded data into designated systems.
- Maintain coding quality, productivity, and accuracy as per client requirements.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and work with relevant teams for clarification.
- Support audits, quality reviews, and coding validation activities.
- Stay updated with changes in UK coding regulations, standards, and healthcare policies.
- Adhere to confidentiality, data protection,
and information governance requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related healthcare disciplines.
- Certified Medical Coding qualification preferred.
- Experience in UK Medical Coding is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding systems.
- Understanding of NHS coding standards and UK healthcare terminology.
- Positive analytical and comprehension skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- 1 to 5+ years of experience in UK Medical Coding.
