We're looking for a Head of Quality to own end-to-end quality for Exprtex, Shingora's technical textiles division, which produces FR (flame-resistant), molten metal protection, electrical protection, industrial safety, and parachute/inflatable nylon fabrics for global defence, aerospace, and industrial safety customers.
This role has one non-negotiable focus: colour-lot consistency in aramid yarn and fabric dyeing. Aramid dyeing is one of the hardest problems in technical textiles — high-temperature, chemistry-sensitive, and extremely intolerant of shade drift. Success in this role means not just detecting a failed lot, but tracing why it failed — back through dyeing parameters, weaving, or upstream yarn variation — and fixing the root cause, not just the symptom.
This role reports to the Head of Business and sits within our Exprtex leadership team as we scale technical textiles into a ₹500 Cr business over the next 3 years.
Responsibilities
Own colour-lot consistency and shade continuity across yarn dyeing and fabric dyeing, using spectrophotometer data, Delta E, metamerism analysis, and lab-to-bulk correlation
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action for shade deviation, weaving defects, and other process-linked quality failures
Build and manage quality systems and compliance documentation for technical textile certifications (ISO 11612, EN 469, NFPA 2112, C-TPAT)
Lead the in-process QC, fabric inspection, and final checking teams for the Exprtex division
Translate quality data into cost and delivery impact in partnership with production and costing teams
Trace fabric-level defects back to their root cause in warping and weaving operations
Establish and enforce hold/release protocols, inspection specifications, and traceability records for aramid and other technical fabrics
Qualifications
8+ years in textile quality leadership, with demonstrable ownership of colour-lot or shade consistency programs
Working fluency with spectrophotometer, computer colour matching, Delta E, and metamerism A root-cause, data-first approach to quality — not a checklist-compliance approach
Comfort working on the production floor with real orders, real lots, and real deviations
Background in an environment where colour-lot consistency is the core quality discipline is strongly preferred — for example, denim manufacturing, automotive or industrial technical fabrics (seatbelt webbing, airbag fabric, industrial nylon), or wool/worsted dyehouse quality leadership with HTHP dyeing experience
Certification/compliance exposure (ISO 11612, EN 469, NFPA 2112, C-TPAT) is a robust plus and can be built on the job if colour and root-cause fundamentals are strong.
